I have spent many years looking at this Tree, as it was the highlight of the view outside my bedroom window; until my haunted uncle removed it from our vision with his rented chainsaw. Well, to be fair I am not sure if it was rented or not. The point is he levelled this Gem that stood tall for so many moons. Perhaps the tree had history, it certainly looks like it had been through a lot. I still hold a lot of respect for this beauty. I remember even giving it a hug a time or two. Is it strange for me to miss it?

I am now curious if it can grow again, and if so will that be in my lifetime, and if so will I be there to spend more time looking at it. Watching the black birds by the dozens perched on it’s branches playing their part in it’s allure. To see all that sliced away. Technically, I listened to the fall of my friend Tree, and took little peeks from behind my bedroom windows. It all took place on a random afternoon. I was not surprised to see my uncle there, he often dabbled in destruction when idle. In all honestly, the Tree was on his property, so he had the right to take it down.

The sad part was that he just left it there, after all that effort he is yet to utilize his conquest. The log remains felled. No timber for a tiny desk when tea time comes. I wonder if he will use it one fine day, if even to make a sale. I hope he did not just cut it for no reason; perhaps one day we will see. I’d like it all to mean something for my beautiful friend the Tree.
